President Trump on Friday fired off a tweet arguing that “big decisions” have to be made about the cost of rebuilding Puerto Rico after it was devastated by Hurricane Maria. Well, Twitter shot back with the perfect response.
Puerto Rico is still reeling from a lack of basic necessities over a week after Hurricane Maria hit, but that didn;t stop Trump from complaining about the cost of recovery.
“The fact is that Puerto Rico has been destroyed by two hurricanes,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Big decisions will have to be made as to the cost of its rebuilding!”

One of Trump’s first remarks in response to the devastation in Puerto Rico was to complain about the “massive debt” owed by the U.S. territory.
San Juan Major Carmen Yulín Cruz, who’s been critical of the administration’s response in Puerto Rico, took issue with Trump’s comment Friday, telling CNN, “If we let them die, nobody is going to pay the debt!”
But Twitter users had a stronger response to Trump’s tone-deaf remarks. Here are some highlights:
How about worrying about the money that your staff is wasting on private jets instead of money used to save peoples lives and help rebuild

Skip the motherfucking tax cut for the wealthy and rebuild Puerto Rico you predator clown

Puerto Ricans are every bit of Americans as you and I, quit victim shaming and spend the money

Like, seriously Donald. All politics aside. You know those are Americans, right? You know that this your job. If you don't want to do your job, then resign and let someone else do it. But abandoning American citizens is NOT an option and it sure as heck isn't patriotic.

Why don't you just say "I hate Hispanics, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, they are all the same to me. #WhiteSupremacy forever!"

How evil are you? These are Americans. Just Do it. Open your wallet Mr. Billionaire, or produce the tax returns to prove you're broke.

Probably best to cancel the stupid wall and tax breaks for the rich and rebuild Puerto Rico instead.
