In another sign that government officials have completely lost faith in the current administration, the acting head of the Drug Enforcement Agency has resigned over concerns that President Donald Trump does not respect the law.
Dismayed by Trump, Chuck Rosenberg, who twice served as chief of staff to the former F.B.I. Director James B. Comey and remains a close confidant, had grown disillusioned with Mr. Trump, The New York Times report.
According to the Times, The official quit because he doesn’t think that Trump respects the law. The president fired Mr. Comey in May, and then in July told law enforcement officers “please don’t be too nice” when handling crime suspects.
To say that that this president is worse than incompetent is an understatement. He is a corrupt individual with no moral compass. He doesn’t care about right and wrong, lawful and lawless, or good and bad.
As a rich man, Trump believes that the law doesn’t apply to him. This attitude has followed him into the presidency, and it is the same mentality that is going to get him kicked out of office.
In a message to D.E.A. employees on Tuesday, Mr. Rosenberg said, “The neighborhoods in which we live are better for your commitment to the rule of law, dedication to the cause of justice and perseverance in the face of adversity.”
“You will continue to do great things,” he added. “I will continue to root for you, now from the sidelines.”
